Cinemas around Bolton

Cineworld Cinema

The Valley, 15 Eagley Brook Way, Bolton BL1 8TS, UK – 0330 333 4444

This cinema is in great condition. Always clean and warm. The free car park outside is massive. There are several restaurants nearby too. Drinks & snacks are typically priced for a cinema in this era - be prepared to spend more than you'd probably like to. There are 12 screens, 11 & 12 being on the 3rd floor - there is a lift however and this floor has it's own set of toilets. Staff are friendly but it can sometimes take 15 minutes+ getting tickets and snacks as unlike other cinema chains this one still has separate ticket and snack booths. Unlimited monthly pass is a great gift idea - gives you discount on snacks too. Would definitely recommend Bolton Cineworld to family and friends.

One of the nicer cinemas in the area. Good comfortable seats, lots if leg room and standout friendly staff. Makes a change from disinterested staff at other places.

Light Cinema Bolton

Market Place Shopping Centre, Unit X4A, Bolton BL1 2AR, UK – 01204 971030

I love it here. The staff are friendly and professional. Snacks are a bit pricey but always are at every cinema. But they have a good selection of snacks. The seats are comfortable and the decor is very nice. Toilets could do with being checked a bit more often but they're not too bad. It's just that some people obviously don't know how to behave in public. It's always been a bit on the quiet side when we've been. Which worries me that it won't make enough money to cover the running costs and close down. But all in all a great little cinema.

This is a brilliant cinema. I know it's relatively new in the grand scheme of things but it's still so clean. The seats are comfy there plenty big enough and I love the wine bottle holder and the table to put your drinks food. If you sign up online for an account you get discount on tickets meaning Monday to Thursday you can go and see a film for £5. Obviously the price of drinks and food is a little pricey but that to be expected. If you buy a large cold soft drink you get a free refill (not many places offer this) this is our new go to cinema you can get food in the vaults then free parking as long as you get your chip coin scanned.

Theatres for Bolton

The Octagon Theatre

Howell Croft S, Bolton BL1 1SB, UK – 01204 520661

Went to see Summer Holiday last night at the Octagon. Interesting concept of having the play in different locations around the town. Wasn’t sure how that was going to work but have to admit it was brilliant! From the initial location of bus station where we were immediately encouraged to join in the singing, to the ride on the decorated buses, the town hall and finally to the theatre - amazing. The energy, enthusiasm, musicality and professionalism of all the cast is to be applauded as well as the team of organisers who ferried us from place to place without feeling like there was a break from the experience. Be prepared for lots of audience participation. Highly recommend!

I haven't visited for a while, but it is a beautiful little theatre. The seating can be changed so it can be in the round or on 3 sides or just from the front. You are close to the performers so it feels quite intimate. There is a bar and restaurant. It is being renovated at the moment. Can't wait to see new look and to just enjoy another production.

Bolton Little Theatre

27 Hanover St, Bolton BL1 4TG, UK – 01204 524469

A lovely sense of the past here. Went to see the Pitmen Painter and what a show! All the actors did amazing. The staff at the place are lovely and friendly too. There is a bar area and seating and toilets. There is also paring near by. I had a lovely time in my visit will look out for other plays that will be on here

Always a high standard of entertainment. Lovely bar plus tea and coffee at the interval.

NCP Car Park Bolton Octagon Theatre MSCP

Octagon Theatre Multi Storey, Coronation St, Bolton BL1 1TN, UK – 0345 050 7080

Great car park - loads of space, and Right in the heart of the town. Prices are competitive, and never encountered a problem.

Expensive car park but right in the town centre. Not for the faint hearted as the ramps are narrow!
